Shout Out with Barbara Fant

Here is a rare opportunity to work with national prizewinning poetry slam artist Barbara Fant.

Bring your own poems or someone else’s or get ready to write some new ones. Develop your style, find your voice, state your vision, and reach deep into your inner wells of inspiration. This literary performing arts class brings poetry to life—it’s time to shake the house.

Barbara Fant is originally from Youngstown and is working on her bachelor’s degree at Ohio Dominican University. She is a two-time National Poetry Slam team member and has represented Columbus at the Women of the World Poetry Slam and the Individual World Poetry Slam.

Registration fees are just $95 per student, per workshop for the general public. Wexner Center members save: members' registration is just $75 per student, per workshop.

Locations and Equipment
All classes will meet on the Ohio State campus. Students will receive confirmation information and directions to the drop-off point for each workshop via e-mail.

In our computer classes students will work on Macintosh laptops. Students are welcome to bring digital cameras from home for photography-related classes, but please remember to include the cord, battery-charging system, and an empty memory chip. If you don’t have a camera—no worries, we will loan you one!

Changes and Cancellations
Dates and times are subject to change. The Wexner Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment without incurring obligations. If a class is canceled, you may transfer to another class or request a full tuition refund. If you withdraw from a summer workshop up to seven days before the event, you will receive a full refund less a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after that time.
