What a day for families to visit the Wex: it's both Six Solos Super Sunday and the Zoom Family Film Festival! Come to see Six Solos or for some Zoom movies (see the complete schedule here), and find loads more fun.
Kids and families can color pictures, leave a comment on our "comment wall," play video games designed by kids in our summer workshops, make buttons, or take a family-friendly tour of our galleries. Young visitors can also try their hands at puppeteering for (closed-circuit) TV. In this special activity with artist Emily Westenhouser, kids and families can make their own puppets, or use ones we'll have on hand, and act out skits and scenes in front of a video camera. Instead of watching the action unfold on the stage of a puppet theater, puppeteers and viewers alike will see the shows on nearby TVs.
Visitors of all ages will also enjoy activities inspired by our current exhibitions. You can make your own architectural sculpture (suggested by those of Gustavo Godoy and Tobias Putrih/MOS). Or add to a collaborative 3D-drawing made of flagging tape like that used in Megan Geckler's café installation. And, because it’s Super Sunday, admission to the galleries is free for everyone all day long; the galleries are open from 11 AM to 6 PM.
