#WageWeek at the Wexner Center for the Arts

Equal Pay Day draws attention to the significant wage gap still present between women and men in the United States. Women, on average, must work 15 months to earn as much as a man would over just 12. In central Ohio, a woman working full-time, year-round, makes 78 cents for every dollar a man earns, according to The Women’s Fund. The gap widens for women of color: African American and Latina women make just 64 and 54 cents, respectively, for every dollar a man makes. This year, Equal Pay Day falls on Tuesday, April 4th; the exact date varies to symbolize how far into the year a woman must work to earn the same her male counterpart received in the previous 12 months.
