#WageWeek at the Wexner Center for the Arts

Equal Pay Day draws attention to the significant wage gap still present between women and men in the United States. Women, on average, must work 15 months to earn as much as a man would over just 12. In central Ohio, a woman working full-time, year-round, makes 78 cents for every dollar a man earns, according to The Women’s Fund. The gap widens for women of color: African American and Latina women make just 64 and 54 cents, respectively, for every dollar a man makes. This year, Equal Pay Day falls on Tuesday, April 4th; the exact date varies to symbolize how far into the year a woman must work to earn the same her male counterpart received in the previous 12 months.

Please join us on April 8 at 11 AM in Heirloom Café during #WageWeek as we convene a Gender By Us™ conversation to raise awareness about the gender pay gap, elevate dialogue, and drive solutions, sponsored by The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio.

Attendees of the event will also receive complimentary tickets for the screening of This Woman’s Work: Ericka Beckman, Cecilia Dougherty, and Jennifer Reeder, as well as complimentary entry for our current exhibitions, Sarah Oppenheimer: S-337473 and Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight.

Cosponsored by The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio.
