Bring out your best performance and explore new material in the drama games of this improv theater workshop. Robin Post will lead the workshop. Post received her MFA in acting from Ohio State in 2006 and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. While in New York, she joined The King’s County Shakespeare Company’s acting ensemble and developed deep appreciation for the complexity and brilliance that is Shakespeare’s text. She has participated in the collaboration between Ohio State and the Royal Shakespeare Company by teaching with and assisting primary and secondary teachers in a joint effort to make Shakespeare accessible and exciting for students of all ages, and she recently directed a 60-minute version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream intended for young audiences. Post is also interested in exploring and using theater's potential for initiating and supporting social change, and she leads Ohio State's InterACT Theatre Troupe, which collaborates with university and community partners using improvisation and interactive theater techniques (often based on the ideas of Augusto Boal and his Theater of the Oppressed) to create and perform new works. The group will be kept small and will fill quickly, so please register early. Email edweb@wexarts.org or call (614) 292-6493 if you have questions and to register. Free lunch included.
