Playlist: Makaya McCraven

Are you ready for the first-ever Columbus appearance by Makaya McCraven? We're excited to host the artist and his band this Monday, May 16, in Mershon Auditorium, and to share this playlist for your pre-show listening pleasure. The two dozen tracks cover McCraven's discography, a couple of the classic jazz artists whose work he remixed for his Blue Note debut Deciphering the Message, a few of his contemporary collaborators on his 2018 album Universal Beings, and a sampling of Gil Scott-Heron as heard on his own and revised by McCraven for the 2020 disc We're New Again.
