Trailer: Cassandro, the Exotico!

French filmmaker Marie Losier, recipient of a Wex Artist Residency Award in 2011 in support of her documentary The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye, returns to the center July 26–27 with her latest work about life outside the mainstream and the limitations of traditional gender roles. Cassandro, the Exotico! focuses on the only openly gay Mexican wrestler in the exótico subgenre as he considers his future in a profession that's taken a heavy physical toll.

Losier will be at the Wex to introduce the July 26 screening and field questions after the film. She'll also be on hand for a pre-show reception that night at 6 PM, featuring free snacks and a cash bar. Here's the trailer for Cassandro.
