WexCast: Kelli Martin of Alternative Fashion Mob

Columbus is known as a home for some big-name fashion brands but the city can also boast of a vibrant community of independent designers working on a smaller scale. Alternative Fashion Mob helps bring them together and put them in the spotlight. The organization, cofounded by Columbus-based designer and Project Runway alum Kelli Martin, partnered with us recently on some fun events around our current exhibition, All of Everything: Todd Oldham Fashion, like a show of member designers' past looks for our March 10 fundraiser party Off the Grid. And Alt Fashion Mob is currently in the middle of its biggest event of the year, Alternative Fashion Week, culminating in a Grand Finale Runway Show on Saturday, March 24 at Express Live.Nonetheless, Kelli took a break from her sewing last week to stop by the Wex for a short chat with me about fashion, Todd Oldham, her latest collection, and what you can expect from other Grand Finale designers.
