Celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with Ohio State’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Latinx Studies Program, Center for Latin American Studies, and the Wex.

Join us at this all-ages event for reflections about our muertos, personal ofrendas (offerings or altars), a short reading and book signing, performances, and hands-on art-making activities.

While you’re here, enjoy free refreshments including tamales, hot chocolate, and traditional pan de muerto (Mexican bread of the dead).

All are welcome to celebrate departed loved ones and participate in this vibrant Latinx tradition with Mesoamerican Indigenous roots. Detailed schedule coming soon!

Día de los Muertos Coloring Contest

While you’re here, enter the fifth annual coloring contest for Día de los Muertos, organized by the Center for Latin American Studies. This coloring contest, open to children and adults of all ages, introduces the holiday to those unfamiliar with it while striving to strengthen the relationship between Ohio State, Latin American, and Latinx culture.
Drop off or mail submissions by October 30, 2026, at 7 PM to:
