Save on Criterion Collection DVDs from our extensive inventory during this one-day-only sale in association with our release party for Jim Jarmusch's Mystery Train (the day before it hits the street).

Everybody saves 20% off list prices! Members save 30%. And you can get inside insights too. From 6 to 7 PM Criterion Technical Director Lee Kline and Senior Producer Susan Arosteguy will be in the Store to chat with visitors. At 7 PM they'll join Film/Video Curator Dave Filipi for a public conversation in the Film/Video Theater about working on this (and other) Criterion projects. Finally, we’ll screen Mystery Train in 35mm starting at about 8 PM.

Kline's role is to bridge the gap between film and video presentations, working closely with filmmakers to make sure their artistic vision is carried over to the home theater format. Arosteguy has produced over 55 Criterion special editions since 1994. Her favorite projects, including Jarmusch's Stranger Than Paradise, Night on Earth, and of course, Mystery Train, along with Slacker, Wings of Desire, Rushmore, Two Lane Blacktop, The Honeymoon Killers, and Carnival of Souls.

If you aren't already a fan, Mystery Train is, as the Criterion Collection's own blurb describes it, "one of Jarmusch's very best movies, a boozy and beautiful pilgrimage" to Memphis, home of Sun Studios, Stax Records, and Elvis.

See more about the screening and conversation at the Criterion Collection DVD Release Party event page.
