ACCESSIBILITY We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you have questions about accessibility or require an accommodation such as CART captioning or ASL interpretation to participate in this event, please email accessibility@wexarts.org or call (614) 688-3890. Requests made by two weeks in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the Wexner Center for the Arts will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
Veterans of the US armed forces are invited to join artist Daniel King for a special six-session creative workshop this fall.
Connect and socialize with fellow veterans in a fun, creative environment led by artist and Air Force veteran Daniel King. Together, we’ll create unique maps with collage, writing, and painting, drawing on personal memories. Through engaging discussions and collaborative art making, participants can explore themes of identity, place, and cultural memory. Held over six sessions at both the Wex and the Linden Community Center every Tuesday, 1–3 PM, from September 24 through October 29, this workshop offers a welcoming and judgment-free space to express your stories while creating a caring community. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, all abilities are welcome!
This program is offered in partnership with the Wex, the Central Ohio VA’s Veteran Arts Initiative and Whole Health Program, and the Linden Community Center. Detailed instructions about weekly meeting locations will be provided after registration. Each participant will receive a free Columbus Recreation and Parks Leisure Card to access the facilities and will be contacted by a representative from the VA’s Whole Health Program to learn about additional resources.
Registration is required, and space is limited to a group of 15 individuals over the course of the workshop.
