Filmed more than a year before The Chelsea Girls premiered, Afternoon features Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick and Ondine (actor Robert Olivo) hanging out with others in an alcohol- and speed-fueled talkfest. The third reel of the film was originally part of The Chelsea Girls, but it was removed postpremiere on Sedgwick’s request after she signed a movie contract with Bob Dylan’s manager Albert Grossman. (100 mins., digital video)
The Closet stars Velvet Underground singer Nico and Randy Bourscheidt, with the latter playing a shy, gay college student. The pair spend the film in a tiny closet where they discuss leaving, but never do. (66 mins., digital video)
