Ága

(Milko Lazarov, 2018)

Aga

Set amid the harsh and desolate landscape of northern Siberia, Ága follows the daily routines of an elderly Yakut couple, Sedna and Nanook. The pair try to cling to a traditional life even as climate change impacts their methods of sustenance and compels others, including their daughter Ága, to seek greater opportunities elsewhere. Nanook has never forgiven Ága for leaving to work in a diamond mine, but when a tragic event occurs, he’s forced to reach out and try to mend their relationship. (96 mins., DCP)
