Wandering through working-class neighborhoods of Paris, they all want to live life as if it were a movie, even going so far as to break out in dance in a half-empty café. (It's the scene that Quentin Tarantino quotes in Pulp Fiction, and Tarantino's production company, A Band Apart, borrows its name from the French title of the film, Bande a part.)

Godard's then-wife Anna Karina stars as the incandescent Odile. Claude Brasseur and Sami Frey play her smalltime partners in crime. (97 mins.)
