Battle in Heaven explores the tensions and hypocrisies between Mexico’s wealthy and working classes through the story of a rich family’s chauffeur and his wife, who are both haunted by a terrible crime they’ve committed. Not for the fainthearted, the film features some of the most astonishing images of Mexico City ever seen on screen, punctuated by unexpected depictions of sex and a burst of violence.
