
In this newly restored documentary, celebrated director St. Clair Bourne follows five Black civil rights activists to Belfast, where they find many similarities between their disparate movements.
In the documentary The Black and the Green, a group of civil rights activists from the US travel to Belfast to examine the similarities between the civil rights movement and the unrest among Catholics in Northern Ireland. Director St. Clair Bourne was a leading documentary filmmaker and activist who focused on African American history and social issues. The film screens in a new 4K restoration by The Museum of Modern Art, New York, that makes its world premiere right here at Cinema Revival. (45 mins., 4K DCP)
