"This is soulful stuff—exactly what America needs to remind itself of what it used to be.”—Michael Simmons, The Huffington Post
Born In Chicago chronicles the story of suburban teenage musicians (many who were white and Jewish) who, in the early sixties, cut their teeth in Chicago’s tough blues neighborhoods, were accepted and treated like sons by masters such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, and then went on to create some of the most influential pop recordings of the era. Featuring Keith Richards, Michael Bloomfield, Eric Burdon, Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Marshall Chess, Jack White, and more! (86 mins., HDCAM). This film is programmed in conjunction with the Blues for Smoke exhibition, on view through December 29.
