Welcome back Guy Maddin—who has graced our stages more than any other filmmaker—for a program commemorating the 30th anniversary of both the Wex and New York–based champions of indie film Strand Releasing.

On Thursday, November 21, Maddin introduces one of his classic, breathtaking homages to cinema past, Careful. Maddin’s third feature follows the residents of a small mountain village who live under the constant threat of avalanches that can be trigged by loud noises—or even an unseemly expression of emotion. Join us on Friday, November 22, as the celebration continues with 30/30 Vision: 3 Decades of Strand Releasing, featuring Strand Releasing President Marcus Hu and director Gregg Araki in person, plus a screening of Araki’s The Living End.
