Cinétracts ’68

Cinétracts were a direct cinematic response by a group of French filmmakers—including the likes of Jean-Luc Godard, Alain Resnais, and Chris Marker—to the revolutionary events that occurred during and following May 1968 in Paris. Produced quickly and often collectively, each “cinétract” was to be a 16mm, 100-foot-long, silent reel lasting 2 minutes and 44 seconds meant to provoke discussion and action.
