The Wex is proud to serve as one of the host venues for the first Columbus Black International Film Festival, an event that aims to both showcase black filmmakers and share stories from the African diaspora. This program includes a welcome by Ohio filmmaker Mark Cummings Sr.; screenings of the short films Heroes of Color: The Harlem Hellfighters (David Heredia, 2015, 3 mins.) and Dr. Race: Practicing Medicine While Black (Micah Autry, 2016, 7 mins.); and Cummings’s feature Holy Hustle (2017, 103 mins.). A reception follows in the Wexner Center’s lower lobby.
