Directed by Iran's Jafar Panahi (The White Balloon, The Circle) and written by Abbas Kiarostami, Crimson Gold depicts modern Teheran as few audiences in the West have ever seen it. "A deceptively modest undertaking that brilliantly combines unpretentious humanism and impeccable formal values."--Village Voice

Winner of last year's Jury Prize at Cannes, Crimson Gold depicts modern Teheran as few audiences in the West have ever seen it. Directed by Iran's Jafar Panahi (The White Balloon, The Circle) and written by Abbas Kiarostami, the film remains banned from Iranian cinemas.

It follows a forlorn war veteran whose job as a pizza delivery man brings him face to face with Teheran behind closed doors, including illegal party-goers and a Westernized playboy. (97 mins.)
