Based on Giovanni Boccaccio’s 14th century novel, the sex-and-slapstick-filled comedy The Decameron is the first film in Pasolini’s Trilogy of Life—a trio of inventive and entertaining interpretations of medieval literature. (111 mins., 35mm) Preceded by The Paper Flower Sequence, the third episode in the anthology film Love and Anger, which also includes chapters by Jean-Luc Godard and Bernardo Bertolucci.
