Celebrate the launch of “Sports,” the latest issue of the artist-run publication INCITE: Journal of Experimental Media, with an evening of engaging dialogue on the intersection of athletics, politics, popular culture, and film. Joining us for this lively conversation about the increasingly prominent ways sports are shaping cultural production and political dialogue are Columbus poet and critic Hanif Abdurraqib, author of They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us (2017), and Ohio State Department of Human Sciences Professor Samuel Hodge, coeditor of Black Males and Intercollegiate Athletics: An Exploration of Problems and Solutions (2015). INCITE editors Astria Suparak and Brett Kashmere kick off the program with an illustrated preview of their new publication.

This discussion is part of “A Non-Zero-Sum Game,” a series of launch events for the new issue. An informal reception, open to the public, follows the conversation in the Wexner Center Store.
