We're pleased to announce that Jay Rosenblatt will be on hand to introduce this screening of his distinctive shorts in addition to his originally scheduled visit on April 30. Director Atom Egoyan calls him "an exquisite artist who makes beautifully crafted miniatures."

I Just Wanted to Be Somebody considers Anita Bryant's impact on the gay rights movement. (2006, 10 mins., video) The Smell of Burning Ants is a documentary on the pains of growing up male and the cruelties boys perpetuate and endure. (1994, 21 mins., 16mm) Human Remains depicts the banality of evil by documenting the most mundane details about Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Mussolini, and Franco. (1998, 30 mins., 16mm) King of the Jews is the director’s examination of anti-Semitism and his own fear of Christ, which uses Hollywood, educational, and religious films as points of departure. (2000, 18 mins., 16mm)
