We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you have questions about accessibility or require an accommodation such as CART captioning or ASL interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Accessibility Manager Helyn Marshall at firstname.lastname@example.org or via telephone at (614) 688–3890. Requests made by two weeks in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the Wexner Center for the Arts will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
Since 2018, Mad Royal has put on a free-to-submit, free-to-watch short film festival for student filmmakers at The Ohio State University, and we're thrilled to host them in-person this year!
Each year 90 minutes of shorts are selected and shared with the Ohio State community in a moment to connect and converse about the films and artists. This year, the festival moves from the pandemic-necessitated online space and back in person.
The Mad Royal Film Festival Awards are judged by staff and alumni from the College of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at Ohio State. They select awards for a wide variety of categories based on the submissions from this year’s entries. Winners will receive a special prize made by members of the Mad Royal E-Board. (program approx. 89 mins.)
Judge panel: Micheal Kaplan, Erin Parsons, Benny Zelkowicz, Taylor Olsen, Roger Beebe, Lydia Cornett, and Janet Parrott
Awards: Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Performance, Best Production Design, Best Sound Design, Best Animation, Best Experimental, Best Screenplay, Best Concept, Best Micro Short Film, and Best of Fest
