wex grid image fill

Two moving tales of transsexuality: Paul Hill's remarkable Myth of Father and the haunting The Brandon Teena Story.

In Myth of Father, Columbus native Paul Hill gives a remarkable first-person portrait of his family's journey towards understanding his transsexual father, Jodie. (2003; 52 mins.)

Susan Muska and Greta Olafsdoltir's The Brandon Teena Story is a haunting documentary that tells the true life story of Teena Brandon, a Nebraska female who moved to Falls City, Nebraska, in 1993 and passed herself off as a male. The film garnered international accolades, including Best Documentary at the 1998 Berlin Film Festival, and inspired the Oscar nominated feature film Boys Don't Cry. (1997; 90 mins.)
