Director Nathaniel Kahn introduces both screenings of this Oscar-nominated documentary about his father, legendary architect Louis I. Kahn. This Oscar-nominated documentary tells of director Nathaniel Kahn's journey of discovery, investigating the life and work of his father, legendary architect Louis I. Kahn. The director, who is the son of one of the architect's two longtime mistresses, travels from Philadelphia to some of Louis Kahn's most noted buildings: the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California, the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, and a government center in Dacca, Bangladesh. He visits with peers including Frank Gehry, Robert A. M. Stern, and Philip Johnson, as well as with architectural historian Vincent Scully. But for all its insights into Kahn's architectural vision, My Architect is most remarkable as an exploration of a complex and compelling family.

The film has earned accolades from film and architecture critics alike. Herbert Muschamp, architecture critic of the New York Times, praised it as "Brilliant! A wonder of a movie." Film critic Andrew Sarris (New York Observer) calls it, "the most insightful and informative nonfiction film that I've ever seen." (116 mins.)
