If you love Banff, then you’ll love No Man’s Land—a program of inspiring outdoor sports films made by or featuring women and genderqueer filmmakers and athletes.
No Man’s Land Film Festival (NMLFF) is an all-women and genderqueer adventure film festival that celebrates the full scope of athletes and adventurers by undefining femininity in adventure, sport, conservation, and film since 2015. Based in Denver, the world tour brings their exciting and innovative programming to venues all over the map. We are excited to be presenting this special program of six films that explore intersectionality in outdoor sports like climbing, skiing, kayaking, and more.
This year’s lineup features an elite Canadian female climber tackling her hardest sport route yet; an Olympic skier showing her love of the sport to her young daughter; a solo hiker on her journey to complete the Triple Crown of Hiking; a journey to become the first Black woman to kayak the Mississippi River; a group of women redefining freeskiing; and two women in Lebanon who overcome social barriers to follow their love of climbing. (113 mins., DCP)
