The Wexner Center’s annual Ohio Shorts competition showcases the best in Ohio-produced short films—from documentary, animation, or dramatic narrative to anything in-between.
The deadline for entries for this year’s event is Monday, March 5, 2018. One entry per person is permitted. All works must be submitted by Vimeo or YouTube URL link and must be accompanied by an entry form (click on the gray “Apply” button above to reach it). Unless the final work is on 16mm or 35mm film, selected artists will be asked to submit their video as a high-resolution Quicktime file for the screening. Adult Division entries must be no longer than 20 minutes and Youth Division entries no longer than 5 minutes. Works must be produced in Ohio within the last 18 months. Previously submitted works will not be accepted. Selections will be made by a panel of Wexner Center staff and outside judges and notification will be made by email on Monday, April 2, 2018, by 5 PM.
The screening will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 7 PM. Each entry selected for the showcase will be awarded a $50 screening fee and receive a complimentary ticket for the evening. The jury and audience award prizes ($500 and $300, respectively) will be announced at a reception following the screening.
