ACCESSIBILITYWe strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you have questions about accessibility or require an accommodation to participate, please contact Accessibility Manager Helyn Marshall at email@example.com or via telephone at (614) 688-3890. Requests made by two weeks in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the Wexner Center for the Arts will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
Showcasing Ohio’s rich community of moving-image makers, our annual Ohio Shorts festival is back for its 27th year—submit your film today!
The festival has become known for presenting an eclectic mix of short work—from documentary, animation, and dramatic narrative to anything in between. This year’s edition will be curated by award-winning writer, director, and Columbus native Colin West. His first film festival experience was Ohio Shorts, where we screened his 2007 animated short film Amsterdam.
We welcome and encourage submissions from all ages and experience levels. Works that are included in the program will receive a $50 screening fee and be eligible for the $500 Jury Award, selected by West, and the $300 Audience Choice Award, determined by online voting.
The deadline for entries has been extended to 6 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
The full program will be announced by April 4, 2023. An in-person screening will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 7 PM. Check back on this page for more details.

Colin West is from Columbus, Ohio, and is now based in Los Angeles and New York. His films include Linoleum (2022 SXSW Film Festival)—starring Jim Gaffigan, Rhea Seehorn, Katelyn Nacon, Michael Ian Black, and Tony Shalhoub—and Double Walker, which was cowritten with and stars Sylvie Mix. He also produced the Stacy Keach-led film Survival Skills, sponsored by Film Independent.
