Celebrate our vibrant local and regional filmmaking culture at the 28th edition of the Ohio Shorts Festival!
Ohio Shorts showcases Buckeye-made short films spanning documentary, animation, dramatic narrative, and more. This year’s edition features an extensive lineup from our dynamic, all-ages community of moving-image makers, curated by filmmaker and animator Lindsey Martin, assistant professor of film production at Ohio University’s School of Film, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. (program approx. 120 mins., digital video/DCP)
Join us for a postscreening reception with the filmmakers in the Performance Space. While you enjoy snacks and a cash bar, we’ll announce the $500 Jury Award winner, selected by Martin, and the audience will vote on the $300 Audience Choice Award recipient!
This year, in addition to $5 tickets we're excited to offer expanded ticketing options with two additional levels to choose from:

Lindsey Martin's films are humorous, sometimes dark looks at the inner workings of families going through crisis, often embracing the absurd. Martin is interested in exploring locations and how humans connect to the places they are from, the cyclical patterns of generations of women living in poverty in rural America, and the bizarre tactics individuals, especially young girls and women, design to cope with traumatic experiences. Her film, Pottero, won Best Animation at Provincetown International Film Festival and the Anchorage International Film Festival. Her films have also screened at various conferences and symposiums around the US. Read more on her website.
