Don’t miss this double feature of inventive movies selected by members of Ohio State’s Art and Resilience student group.
Based on the autobiographical graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi, who codirected the film, Persepolis follows Satrapi’s life as a young Iranian girl growing up during the Iranian Revolution who attempts to negotiate her outspoken punk-loving personality within the dangerous political climate. In French, Persian, and German with English subtitles. (96 mins., DCP)
Evelyn, a Chinese American laundromat owner, struggles with her business, marriage, and family when suddenly she is thrown into a multiverse where she must connect with alternate versions of herself to stop an existential threat that looks just like her daughter. A heartwarming film, Everything Everywhere All at Once explores themes of acceptance, family, and what it means to be an immigrant in America. In English, Mandarin, and Cantonese with English subtitles. (139 mins., DCP)
Show up at 6:30PM and get your "hot dog fingers" on some free Dirty Franks. We will have a selection of both beef and veggie hotdogs with toppings. Regular film concessions will also be available.
Join us for this special double feature selected by members of Art and Resilience, an Ohio State student organization anchored at the Wex. Open to all Ohio State students, the group embraces the idea of “art for our sake,” exploring how the arts foster personal and collective well-being through creative expression, meaningful dialogue, and healthy social connection.
Ohio State students are invited to join the group’s January 28 meeting for a discussion of the films. Follow @osuartandresilience on Instagram for details.
