We’re rolling out the red carpet for this extraordinary production with Columbus connections—and inviting you to be the first audience to see it!
Local creative Nancy Kangas has been teaching area preschoolers to write poetry for nearly a decade. For this project, she’s picked eight poems to adapt into vibrant, varied, and charming animations brought to life by artists from around the world and read by the children themselves. Augmented with documentary footage of the kids and their lives (captured with the help of local filmmaker Josh Kun), the results range from the humorous to the poignant and are full of all the surprises that the best poetry and animation should provide. The debut of this inspiring film is followed by an onstage converstion with the directors and young poets who created it, plus a free public reception. (program approx. 60 mins., video)
Parking note: please allow extra time for parking due to multiple events scheduled in the campus area. Cash-only parking is available in the nearby Union Garage. An alternative parking location is Arps Garage, located to the north of the center on College Road and open to the public after 4 PM.
