Rare Baseball Films: The Newsreels

Usher in a new season with our Rare Baseball Films program—returning for the 13th time and the first time since 2015! Drawing from the Fox Movietone News collection at the University of South Carolina, this year’s edition includes a lengthy interview with Ty Cobb; a Negro League game in Washington, DC; footage of Lou Gehrig playing the stock market, the House of David exhibition team practicing with Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander, and a 13-year-old signing a contract with the Chicago Cubs; plus a clip of female baseball star Josie Caruso, and more!
