ReelAbilities Film Festival Columbus
Children's workshop follows Part 1

Columbus Premiere

Animated still of a small boy suspended in space, reaching for a shoe. Surrounding him, various line-drawn items float.

Join us for our next ReelAbilities Film Festival Columbus screening, a free, two-part program showcasing animated films made by, for, or about people with disabilities.

Portraying a variety of people with disabilities through a range of styles, tones, and stories, this program of animated shorts offers something for everyone! The first half is for audiences of all ages, and the second half, presented after a brief intermission, features less kid-friendly shorts that grapple with issues including chronic and terminal illness, access to healthcare, and prescription drug use. Check out the program lineup below and learn more about the films on Art Possible Ohio’s website. (Part 1: 35 mins.; Part 2: 32 mins., DCP)

After the first part of the program, Columbus-based animation artist and graphic novelist Rafael Rosado will lead children of all ages through a fun, hands-on storyboarding project in the café. Rosado will showcase how professional artists tell stories through drawing and guide participants through their storytelling processes on paper. The workshop is a great option for kids not ready for the themes covered by the films in part two. No supplies or registration necessary.
