Full of visual delights and consistently showcasing the expressive and technical possibilities of 16mm film, the mesmerizing works of Australian artists Richard Tuohy and Dianna Barrie have to be experienced in person to be fully appreciated. This program focuses on the extraordinary multiple projector works that place the pair among the foremost figures in the field of expanded cinema. Tuohy and Barrie are also at the forefront of the burgeoning trend of artist-run film processing labs with nanolab, their facility outside of Melbourne. (program approx. 90 mins., multiple 16mm projections)

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Cinema, Expanded, curated by Roger Beebe, on view at Ohio State’s Hopkins Hall Gallery October 15–November 29, 2018.

"Together Tuohy and Barrie...have produced some of the most vibrant, visually astonishing, and perceptually challenging films in recent memory."
