This uncanny romantic comedy is both a quiet study of human relationships and a subversion of narrative form.
A chance encounter between a well-known film director and a fledgling painter becomes an ambling meditation on relationships in Hong Sangsoo’s wry and gentle Right Now, Wrong Then. A surprising twist invites viewers to consider the weight of small details and divides the film into two halves: “Right Then, Wrong Now” and “Right Now, Wrong Then.” Described as “a kind and beautiful film” by Cinema Scope, this program was curated by Cinéseries member and Treasurer Amalia Herzog. Stick around after the screening for an informal discussion of the film with light refreshments. In Korean with English subtitles. (121 mins., DCP)

In the words of Cinéseries’ members: Cinéseries is a student-led group that organizes monthly screenings in collaboration with the Wexner Center for the Arts.
