Safety Last!

(Fred Newmeyer and Sam Taylor, 1923)

Public Domain Day Event

Safety Last

While copyrighted works first published in 1923 should have entered into the public domain in 1998, the Sonny Bono Act extended that period in the US until 2019. Join the Wex and The Ohio State University Libraries to celebrate this long-awaited moment with a screening of the beloved 1923 film Safety Last!, which famously finds silent comedian Harold Lloyd dangling high above the street from the hands of a clock! (70 mins., 2K DCP)
