A beloved classic of Indian cinema, the newly restored Sholay is an exhilarating adventure with a soundtrack guaranteed to have you singing along!
Referred to as a curry Western by some but perhaps more accurately a prime example of masala cinema, Sholay is a delightful mix of spaghetti Western and samurai film. Small-time criminals Veeru (Dharmendra) and Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) are hired by retired police chief Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar) to use their fighting skills to rid his village of the villainous Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). Simply one of the most beloved films in Indian history, Sholay veers from train robberies and musical numbers to melodramatic romance and epic fight scenes featuring stars clad in one foxy leisure suit after another. A can’t miss on the big screen! In Hindi with English subtitles. (204 mins. with 10 min. intermission, 4K DCP)
