The last night of Sessions: Skateboard Cinema highlights the connections between the art of skateboarding and the art of film, including short works made in the Buckeye state plus one made here at the Wexner Center.

Launching our last night of great skate films is Skate Video Classics, a collection of excerpts marking the dynamic relationship between skateboarding and film. (1987/2001; 30 mins.)

Compiled by Eric Barkow, Ohio-Made documents skateboarding throughout the Buckeye state. (1999-2001; 30 mins.)

New York-based photographer and filmmaker Cheryl Dunn, recently in residence in the Art and Technology facility, was commissioned to produce a short piece related to SIMPARCH's Free Basin, the functional skate bowl open to skateboarders through April 14 as part of the Mood River exhibition. (2001)

Program approx. 75 mins.

Season Support

Support for the 2001-02 film/video season is provided by the Rohauer Collection Foundation and the Corporate Annual Fund of the Wexner Center Foundation.
