One of the great psychedelic masterpieces of world animation, Son of the White Mare is a color-mad maelstrom of mythic monsters and heroes—part medieval epic, part Yellow Submarine. The gates of the underworld are guarded by a massive, cosmic oak that holds 77 dragons in its roots. To defeat these monsters, a white mare goddess gives birth to three heroes who embark on a cosmic journey to save the universe. (81 mins., 4K DCP)
