Tear up the tracks with Cinéseries’ first screening of the school year!
Described in The National as “a thrill ride from beginning to end,” Speed Sisters documents a team of women race car drivers living and driving in Palestine. The film follows the five women who make up the first female street racing team in the Middle East. Navigating both the challenges of the street racing scene and the Israeli occupation, these women more than rise to the occasion. In Arabic and English with English subtitles. (80 mins., DCP)
Hand-picked by Cinéseries president Yasmeen Taher-Masri, this screening will be followed by a casual discussion with light refreshments in the café area outside the theater. Join Cinéseries for an inspiring evening organized by Ohio State students for the broader community.

In the words of Cinéseries’ members: Cinéseries is a student-led group that organizes regular screenings in collaboration with the Wexner Center for the Arts. We aim to offer a space for students and the community to engage with film and expanded cinema from makers of a variety of backgrounds. We aspire to create an environment conducive to critical engagement by inviting filmmakers to showcase work that takes risks, challenges norms, and opens a conversation by devoting to a wide range of artist-centered and independent media.
