A compelling, star-studded portrait of one of the most charismatic figures in the fashion world of the 1990s.
Unzipped follows then-rising fashion design superstar Isaac Mizrahi in the lead up to the debut of his 1994 fall collection. The documentary serves as both a behind-the-scenes look at the New York fashion world—with the likes of Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Naomi Campbell popping up—and a portrait of an artist trying to find inspiration while coping with self-doubt before the biggest moment of his career. Directed by Mizrahi’s then-boyfriend Douglas Keeve, Unzipped is the perfect vehicle for the designer’s engaging and irrepressible personality. (73 mins., 4K DCP)
