Whale Rider

A contemporary classic returns to the big screen! When the next leader of a small Maori tribal village dies, his 12-year-old twin sister is convinced of her calling to the role, even though it’s been reserved for men for thousands of years. Despite being dismissed by her family and shunned by her village, she sets out to train herself in the customs of her people. Actress Keisha Castle-Hughes (Game of Thrones) received an Academy Award nomination for her performance, the youngest person to do so at the time. (101 mins., video)

Parking note: please allow extra time for parking due to multiple events scheduled in the campus area. Cash-only parking is available in the nearby Union Garage. An alternative parking location is Arps Garage, located to the north of the center on College Road and open to the public on weekends.
