(Ann Marie Fleming, 2016)

Ann Marie Fleming IN PERSON

Window Horses

Ann Marie Fleming’s animated Window Horses tells the funny and poignant story of Rosie (voiced by Sandra Oh), the Canadian daughter of a Chinese mother and Iranian father who miraculously finds herself and her teenage verse invited to an international poetry festival in Tehran. There she connects with people from all over the world, and learns much about her family roots as well as herself. Fleming’s previous work as an animator and cartoonist includes the film The Magical Life of Long Tack Sam (2003) and its graphic novel adaptation. (88 mins., DCP)

Participating organizations in this year’s Cartoon Crossroads Columbus include Ohio State’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus Museum of Art, and Columbus Metropolitan Library.
