Won't You Be My Neighbor?

(Morgan Neville, 2018)

This Valentine's Day we’re presenting one of the best contemporary movies about kindness as part of the campus-wide Buckeye Love week.

In Won’t You Be My Neighbor, Academy Award–winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (Twenty Feet from Stardom) looks back on the legacy of Fred Rogers, the beloved television host of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, and his radically kind ideas. Mr. Rogers and his cast of puppets and friends spoke to young children about some of life’s weightiest issues, in a simple, direct fashion. In his words, “the greatest thing that we can do is to help somebody know that they’re loved and capable of loving.” Bring tissues for this emotional, gentle, and inspiring documentary! (94 mins., DCP)

The kindness continues all week at the Wex with activities, discounts, and more February 12–16. See the complete Buckeye Love Week lineup.

"Both nostalgic and immediate, it’s a documentary you want to hug."
