(Se rokh, Jafar Panahi, 2018)

Winner of the Best Screenplay award at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, 3 Faces is the fourth feature legendary director Jafar Panahi has slyly completed since being banned from filmmaking by the Iranian government. In it, actress Behnaz Jafari (playing herself) receives a video from a distraught girl on the Turkish border who’s suicidal after her family forbids her from studying to be an actress in Tehran. Jafari then asks Panahi (playing himself) to drive her to the girl’s small hometown to investigate. From there, 3 Faces becomes an intricate road movie and a tribute to solidarity under the eyes of oppression. (100 mins., DCP)

Please note: special event parking is available in the Ohio Union Garages.

"Charming Iranian cinema at its purest. Defiantly modern in its liberating message about freedom of choice."
