Buddy

(Heddy Honigmann, 2018)

Still from Buddy

Another essential documentary from the veteran Dutch filmmaker Heddy Honigmann, Buddy is a poignant, endearing, and thoughtful portrait of six service dogs and their owners. Exploring these close bonds, the film pays equal, respectful attention to the owners’ thoughts and the dogs’ actions (opening and closing drawers, removing paper from a computer printer, pulling up blankets, even pushing in a syringe). Full of warmth and humor, the film shows countless small moments of trust, courage, and love between humans and animals. (86 mins., DCP)

Please note: special event parking ($5) is available in Ohio Union South Garage for the Friday, July 19, screening. Please allow extra time for travel and parking.
"A tender tribute to tail-wagging treasures…an audience favorite."
