Ohio Shorts 2026 Call for Entries

Entries due February 7, 2026

A group of Ohio Shorts 2024 filmmakers of various ages pose on stage in front of the theater screen.

Submit your film for our 30th annual Ohio Shorts festival showcasing Ohio’s rich community of moving-image makers.

Known for presenting an eclectic mix of short films—from documentary, animation, and dramatic narrative to anything in between—Ohio Shorts is turning 30! This landmark year features celebrated author and past Wex guest Hanif Abdurraqib as juror.

We welcome and encourage submissions from all ages and experience levels. Works that are included in the program will receive a $50 screening fee and be eligible for the $500 Jury Award and the $300 Audience Choice Award, determined by audience voting. Check back on this page December 1, 2025, for the entry form to submit your film!

The deadline for entries is 11:59 PM EST on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

  • One entry per person is permitted.
  • All works must be submitted by Vimeo or YouTube URL using the entry form.
  • Works can be as short as 30 seconds but no longer than 20 minutes and must be produced in Ohio between June 2024 and January 2026.
