Peter Eisenman

Canceled

A schematic, wireframe isometric plan of the Wexner Center for the Arts and a portrait of Peter Eisenman.

Renowned architect and educator Peter Eisenman returns to Columbus to reflect on one of his most celebrated and iconic works: the Wex itself.

Join Eisenman as he discusses his architectural design of the center, which opened in 1989, and the building’s impact on his career. Created with local architect Richard Trott as a radical reimagining of space, structure, and movement, the Wex remains a defining example of Eisenman’s deconstructivist approach, challenging traditional notions of form and function.

In this engaging conversation, Eisenman explores the conceptual origins of the building, its groundbreaking design, and its profound influence on his career and contemporary architecture. He shares insights into balancing theory and practice as well as how the Wex continues to shape conversations about art and architecture today.

Members can enjoy guided architectural tours of the Wex before the talk. Tours are available on October 25 at 10 AM and October 30 at 4:30 PM. To register, please email Membership Manager Patrick Bradford at pbradford@wexarts.org. Not a member yet? Learn more and join!
