Hear the artists' perspectives about a new project in development this summer at the Wexner Center: SUPER VISION, a collaboration between New York City multimedia ensemble The Builders Association (known for Alladeen) and dbox, a computer animation studio. See what's new with The Builders Association. Their theatrical spectacle Alladeen premiered at the Wexner Center in 2003, then won global acclaim on its international tour. This summer, the Builders return as recipients of the 2004-05 Wexner Center Residency Award in performing arts.

The residency will help to launch their next project, SUPER VISION, which examines surveillance technology in contemporary society and the formation of our identities as "data bodies," composites of information in computer files. Developed in collaboration with dbox, the computer animation studio that created Alladeen's stunning digital animation, SUPER VISION is scheduled to debut during the 2005-06 season.

On campus, the Builders and dbox will work at Ohio State's Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), as well as at the Wexner Center, where the collaborators will test the integration of video and motion capture technology with live action. The Wexner Center and ACCAD are serving as partners to co-commission SUPER VISION.

At this informal discussion at the end of the residency, artists from the Builders and dbox will demonstrate some of the work they've accomplished here and explain the ideas that inform SUPER VISION.

Theater season presented by Altria Group, Inc.

Major support for performing arts season provided by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
